A few years ago, Brooks had a show on Broadway that supposedly was one
of the biggest train wrecks ever, especially since vanity productions
have been pretty much crowded out these days by the corporate
franchise machines. (Thanks to deep pockets, the show, "In My Life,"
made it to 61 performances, although people were pretty much astounded
why.) The Internet Broadway Database shows that most of the actresses
in that show were making their Broadway debut, which makes me wonder
if he was running the casting couch back then. A former Chicago
acquaintance named Jessica Bogart (nee Boevers) had the female lead in
that show, which makes me wonder if Brooks was chasing her, too.
