And you people think I have no taste. Someone at MyNetwork thinks it'd
be a good idea to rerun a special from a few years back wherein the
guy who just plead guilty of beating the crap out of a pop star pays
tribute to the king of pop. But hey, I guess we're supposed to ignore
the negative and focus on the positive. So, instead of condemning
Chris Brown for beating up women, I should compliment him on his right
hook. Oh, wait, Chris Brown isn't dead yet, so we can still trash talk
him.

Please be aware of the following programming update for MyNetworkTV for 7/1/09.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, 2009

8:00 -10:00 p.m. (Eastern/Pacific)/ 7:00-9:00 p.m. (Central): World
Music Awards – An Encore Presentation in Memory of Michael Jackson

In memory of Michael Jackson, MyNetworkTV will present an encore of
the 2006 World Music Awards, during which the “King of Pop” was
honored to help mark the 25th anniversary of his seminal album
“Thriller.” The World Music Awards paid tribute to Jackson and his
unrivalled contribution to the music industry and honored him with the
Diamond Award, presented to him by Beyoncé. The award is given to
artists who have sold over 100 million albums.

The tribute included some of Jackson’s most memorable musical moments,
as well as a performance of “Thriller” by Chris Brown. Jackson made
his one of his first public appearances in nine years and one of his
last onstage performances as he accepted the award and helped close
the show with a choir of fans performing “We are The World.”
