I'm surprised that ABC doesn't save a bit of cash and utilise the "international" set in Argentina. Endemol has a fixed production base there and many countries utilise it. You need only fly contestants and a presenter to the country. Top and tail in your home nation and you have a finished show. Very cost efficient.
(Of course if they've already sunk costs in the California set, then I guess it's a moot point). Obviously it's a dreadful show. But I somehow admire the economics of it (as long as it's balanced by quality fare).
