I believe Ed is correct here - being a US Marshall is not a secret, being a "Witness Security Inspector" is. Though that raises the question, once it is known you are a US Marshall, and also known that you can't say what you do for them, it seems like it would be a good guess that you are WITSEC. It seems it would be better to have a cover job at the US Marshall's Office (like they had on The Unit) rather than a big secret hole.
