I'm not even worried about the Sabermetric stuff - how about getting the
basics rights. Last year before a Yankees game, he stated that Derek Jeter
was on course to hit his typical 25 home runs in that season.

Derek Jeter has never hit 25 home runs in a season. 24 once, 23 once, 21
once but every other season is under 20, a lot are under 15.
A 15-year player with about 200 home runs doesn't have "typical 25
home run" seasons. It
is simple math not "highly processed and tightly validated empirical data."
And it is Derek Jeter. It is not some guy who plays for the Pirates or
Nats and never gets much national attention.

I've always found Miller and Morgan just tedious. Now with Steve Phillips
in the booth it is the trifecta of guys I don't want to hear.

They did an amazing job today with the Mark Buehrle (sp?) perfect game.
They stuck with the White Sox Comcast telecast through the post game and
the wrap up with Hawk Harrelson and Steve Stone (I think). It was terrific.
They had Buster Olney talking about the two perfect games he saw (he was
the Times Yankees beat reporter for the Wells and Cone perfect games) and
while I can live with Buster not dissing Cone's effort, he had an
interesting analysis.

Tell me who won, show me the good highlights, let the better analysts talk
and keep Skip Bayliss to a minimum and I'm mostly pleased.
