What Jon said.

Alan Alda also once claimed that BBC2 in the UK aired "MASH"
laughtrackless.

Which leads me to ask--since "MASH" is an all-cash show these days (as
it went into syndication before the advent of satellite distribution
and national barter ads), I suspect that 20th would not want to
replace 200-some reels to whatever the number of stations that are
still carrying the show (which seems to include all of the current and
former Fox-owned stations), even if the Fox-owned stations starting
next week are giving "The Office" reruns their prime positions in
access and after the late news, but it would seem to me that either
TVL or Hallmark (who I believe are the cable rights holders) should be
given the laugh track-free versions and start airing them, promoing it
as "'MASH' the way Larry Gelbart wanted you to see it." Since
Hallmark did air (or still airs?) the uncut versions as originally
aired on the network, they would seem to be the logical choice.
