Had the good fortune to meet Gibson a couple of years ago at a screening, and found him to be courtly and good-natured. I know from mutual friends that his wife - to whom he was devoted - preceded him in death, and that the loss was not easy on him. I hope that they've been reunited on the astral plane...if that sort of thing exists.
