So when Alda played a Larry Gelbart-type TV producer in Woody Allen's
CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS, he was just poking gentle fun at an old
friend? (Assuming the character was inspired by Gelbart, it wasn't a
terribly flattering portrayal. It's worth remembering Allen had also
worked with Gelbart.)
