Much better than it had any right to be. Even before the end part I thought it had reached the level of mediocre hackneyed sit com (though I have such positive conditioned response to John Oliver that I was already giving it bonus points), which was a step or two above what I expected. By the end it had taken another step or two above that. I was not sure at all from the promos what kind of show this was going to be - it seemed like it was trying to be the show Parks and Recreation is not.
