You are correct that I am unlikely to ever again be fan of Leno - but I once was. I guess what I would really like is for Leno to retire from having his own TV show and start showing up as a guest on Dave's show once a month again.
I don't mean that Leno will go into some self-effacing depression if his show flops. Indeed, I don't think his show will flop - it is likely to be a successful money maker for NBC for several, maybe many, years. I just wonder if being a successful money maker 3rd or 4th in the fragmented 10:00 pm universe will really be all that satisfying for him. Why wouldn't he rather just hit the road as a stand-up 250 nights a week?
