The line was spoken about the token female character, and they eluded to her having some ties to the base (other than her being in NavalCIS), but they didn't specify yet. Presently, if freeway congestion is any indication, San Clemente is the beach town of choice between San Diego and Los Angeles. Unless you take the 5 freeway at 4am on a Sunday, you're bound to hit traffic in or around San Clemente. I believe Naval Intelligence is locally based out of Norco, CA. Assuming it didn't catch fire yesterday, the base is a hunk of a junk near a stinky cheese processing plant, and not a Spanish-deco resort in the heart of LA as depicted in the series. There is an old off-color joke with the punchline, "so I drove her to Norco." It is tasteless, but, for those of us who live in the area, very funny. -- Kevin M.
