Without going into the history of this list, a lot of us found Gmail a preferable way of reading and responding to posts. As Bob mentioned, this is a traditional email list rather than a web-based forum, so you can read and respond using either any email program or through the Google Groups website. As to being disappointed with new series, everybody is taking a chance with a new series, so my expectations aren't high before watching the first episode. If a new series has a great pedigree, meaning known and respected producer, writers, actors, etc, and the first episode still comes out a mess, then the show might need a few weeks to gel. It's when I start to watch a show, and like it, and then watch it get creamed in the ratings and pulled from the schedule, that I get disappointed.
