Does anyone know why Ellen Degeneres had such a severe reaction to the news about Letterman? She opened her show in tears... open sobs and for long stretches unable to speak. I only heard the first two minutes or so on an unrelated podcast, but they didn't actually play the part where Ellen theoretically explained why she was taking things so personally. I wasn't even totally sure if she was crying in support of Dave or out of shock at what he did. She was really a mess.
