If anything is brought to mind, it is the great media splash that accompanied the launch of Windows 95. It's tough to break through the clutter to get people to pay attention to your OS update and I'll at least give Microsoft credit for being creative even if they fail. Remembering the launch of Vista, when I was paying attention as I was looking for a new computer and ended up with a Mac, if Microsoft can't convince PC users that something better than XP is available no media stunts are going to help. As for the question in the article about the possible return of shows with a single sponsor, this is a one-off show, not a series. I can't imagine any network or studio wants to be stuck with single sponsor series when the economy improves and money flows back into TV advertising.
