An old college friend of mine, Phyllis Stark - who later spent many
years writing for Billboard Magazine - had a great line about "Miami
Vice'" at the height of its success (which I'll now quote to the best
of my memory):
"The problem with 'Miami Vice' is that, no matter how early you tune
in, you feel like you missed the first fifteen minutes."
