What-was-then Touchstone Television (now ABC Studios) co-produced the
series.

And a problem of moving FX shows to Fox, aside from the possible
bleeping and blurring, is that a lot of them are not owned by 20th-
Century Fox (or Fox TV Studios or Fox 21, its cable/reality arms).
"Rescue Me" and "The Shield" are/were produced by Sony, "Nip/Tuck" is
produced by Warners. "Sons of Anarchy" is produced by Fox 21 and
"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is produced by indie 3Arts with
20th handling syndication (the off-net rights have been sold to Comedy
Central), so they could air on the main stem, but I seem to recall
that 20th-Century Fox TV wants more than token license fees for
broadcast airings.

Also, in particular "Sunny" would have a hard time airing in the 8
p.m. hour, where sitcoms almost always go on Fox, which is probably
why 20th sold the off-net rights to another cable channel before going
into broadcast syndication (where it would have to go into the same
late-night slots where stations put "South Park," "Reno 911!" and "Sex
and the City" now, "Entourage" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" next year).
