We already had a pretty large Leno thread for this week, so I will just post these Week 6 updated numbers and make a few observations. Week 6 was basically tied for Leno's worst week so far, but it was a big baseball playoff week, with several Yankee-Angel games in primetime on the East Coast. Still, as know Leno did worse vs the competition than he has on many nights this week - which surprised me a little, because I had thought he might be good counter-programming to sports. But instead it seems that Leno is hurt even more than regular shows by high profile live sports, as he has really been hurt by the Farve MNF and now the Yankee playoff games. His Tuesday and Wednesday were the worst he has had all season - I don't know if it was a bad week for that Weight Loss Reality show which has been really helping him out, or if it was baseball that did him in. For a while I could not figure out what seems to be anomalous numbers for Friday, and I assumed TV By The Numbers had made a mistake. Then I stumbled upon a web report that the She-Obama was on Leno last night (it looks like it was the lame 10 questions thing, and not the in-studio interview). The blurb I read said the highlight was that she named all the kids in the Brady Bunch. I turn now to my TiVo to see who the main guest was, and it is Colin Firth, so I am going to go ahead and attribute the Friday rating, which was by far Leno's highest Friday rating since debut week, to the First Lady (though even then he came in third in the demo to Numb3rs and 20-20). --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ TV or Not TV ....
