For whatever reason that character was dropped and Hunt's character added between the backdoor pilot and first episode. While I don't think the tension between her and Gibbs really worked or helped the story, I saw no reason why she should be scrapped. The actress had served time on the CSI mothership and could hold her own. No reason that it would be any different with NCIS:LA.
