This seems as good a place as any to send Thanksgiving wishes to everyone who is part of the tvornottv community.
I am finishing up a little last minute work here in my home office before the house fills up with our annual gang of family and friends for the next three days. But as I make one last check of my gmail today I find myself thinking of our absent (but never totally) friend Tom, and reflecting on how much his "but the conversation has just begun" really expresses the closest thing I have to a personal theology. I am grateful for the family and friends I will share today with, and the ongoing conversations I have with them, but I realize too I am grateful for the two or three online communities that I belong to, and those conversations, trivial and not, that in ways I can't always articulate enrich my life. I hope Bob and Kevin heal from their recent insults to the too too solid flesh, (and even though I have never met either, I see their names and envision Bob taking care of his parents and Kevin teaching his students, and pissing off just about everybody else) and I hope everyone here finds some peace and refreshment over the Thanksgiving holiday (which actually is my favorite holiday of the year).
