If you were thinking about giving anybody the DVD of the Radio City Hall Christmas Show that PBS is currently using for its begathon, be warned that it is astonishingly awful. If the point is to see the Rockettes perform, do we really need 27 camera changes per minute? (That's not hyperbole -- I counted a couple of times.) You want to be amazed when the Toy Soldiers slowly and famously collapse like dominoes? Forget about it. Instead, you'll see about a half-dozen audience shots cut between glimpses of the falling line. Are they trying to get you to go to Radio City, or to never want to endure this again?
