Carson Daly, who was night jock at "World Famous" modern rocker KROQ
in LA before the MTV gig that changed his life, starts in morning
drive on Jan. 4 at CBS' Top 40 KAMP "AMP 97.1" (sister station to
KROQ), as the station, locked in mortal combat with Clear Channel's
KIIS "KISS FM" for the teeny-bop and soccer mom audiences (and Top 40
or "CHR" is skewing older than it used to), hopes that he will bring
nationally-syndicated KISS morning man Ryan Seacrest to his knees (go
ahead and make up your own jokes):

Daly will unfortunately continue to do his 1:35 a.m. show on NBC,
although I suspect that when Comcast takes over, fires Zucker and
replaces him with Ted Harbert, Daly will get canned for "Chelsea
Lately"--unless Harbert and Chelsea Handler break up by then.
