Carson Daly, who was night jock at "World Famous" modern rocker KROQ in LA before the MTV gig that changed his life, starts in morning drive on Jan. 4 at CBS' Top 40 KAMP "AMP 97.1" (sister station to KROQ), as the station, locked in mortal combat with Clear Channel's KIIS "KISS FM" for the teeny-bop and soccer mom audiences (and Top 40 or "CHR" is skewing older than it used to), hopes that he will bring nationally-syndicated KISS morning man Ryan Seacrest to his knees (go ahead and make up your own jokes):
