Sadly, many people do care too much about these things. At last count, there were less than 100 guys in the HFPA who sit in a newer (but made to look Olde English) building near the Miracle Mile and decide who/what is trendy and popular. I didn't care about those things in high school. I couldn't even pretend to care about them when I worked on the show (one of only two shows where I drank during production). I care even less about them now. I hope Gervais was funny, but I have more than 32 hours of him in podcast form, plus the Extras and stand-up DVDs, so I didn't need to watch him on the Globes. And I know I rant about this annually (except last year when the strike called a blessed halt to the sham of an awards show), but it is a rant that bears repeating until these buffoons get their egos in check and stop taking payola for good reviews. -- Kevin M.
