Sad for me too. When my wife and I first got married and we were too poor
for much other entertainments we would buy two Spencer books, take turns
reading them, and then talk about them. I have every Spencer book in the
series - most of them used paperbacks from the old bookstore down the street
from my apartment in Pasadena (more recent ones, reflecting our ever
increasing ascent on the social ladder, are hardbacks).

Unlike Kevin I never got into his other series (I did read Poodle Springs)
but the Spencer universe will always have fond associations for me.
