ISTR the transition into essentially a second set of co-hosts was fairly organic, too. They (and at least one other person) were assistants who sometimes appeared on camera before being split off into a separate team and even then, it was a couple more years before they were hosting segments on their own rather than appearing to take orders from Jamie and Adam.
