So, somebody at NBC Sports stole a comedic concept and attempted to make it a serious means of registering word or phrase activity on the world's most braindead social network? Conan was mocking the idea that, like the early days of websites when every corporation felt compelled to get one, every celebrity (and non-celebrity) feels compelled to tweet. It is a sad and pathetic condition where people (or in the case of many, people's people) are so concerned about not being a part of the next-big-thing that they'll join it, then look like bumbling asses in the process. And looking like an ass should actually be worse for them, but the lemmings following the next-big-thing seem to feed off of it. Mainstream culture really makes me want to puke sometimes.
