PBS' "Masterpiece" and the BBC (even though the original aired in the
UK on ITV) are producing a three-part continuation of the landmark
series, which will air in the U.S. next year on the PBS flagship
tentpole:

Other new "Masterpiece"/BBC co-productions are a new "Sherlock Holmes"
series from the producers of the original UK version of "Coupling" and
a new adaptation of Michael Dibdin's Aurelius Zen mystery novels with
Rufus Sewell--"Masterpiece" showrunner Rebecca Eaton also warned that
it may be difficult in the future to continue such partnerships
("Masterpiece" lost its CPB funding, has not had corporate funding
since Mobil merged with Exxon and bowed out years ago, and is only
being funded by the PBS Station Program Cooperative, or "the annual
financial support of Viewers Like You--Thank You").
