This has happened before, yes. For me, as a former NBC affiliate
engineer who bosses did not see the value in purchasing C-band
equipment for rain-fade operation, we lost our network signal all the
time in heavy rain. That being said, NBC had lost their signal more
than once in 10 years I was there.
