I shall set aside my jaded cynicism and my personal distaste for local
journalism for one moment, and commend to your attention what took
place at our school this afternoon, as reported by the local CBS
affiliate

as the oftentimes do not

If you are lucky, the video clip will be preceded by a local car
commercial starring TV's Robert Wagner, dressed like his character in
"It Takes A Thief."

I hope to be able to share with you a long and detailed story about
what has been going on at my workplace in the coming weeks (maybe
months), and though I have an axe or two to grind, I applaud those on
the staff who made this event happen today. I have spent the last
several weeks focused almost entirely on the negative, but there are
some powerfully positive figures at my school. And though there were
two on the staff who chose for whatever reason not to take part in
this, the kids were amazing today.
