Channel 4, actually--Sundance carries it in the U.S. and is about three or four seasons behind the UK (since SHO used to handle the programming for Sundance in the old CBS/NBCU/Redford ownership setup, they must be familiar with the original series). It would seem to me that the show would work better in an Americanization as more of a black or Latino family (Chatsworth Estates in the original show is closer to a Cabrini-Green in Chicago) and Macy seems to me to be a lot older than the actor that plays Frank in the UK version (which is I assume the character he's playing), but if they're staying wtih Catholic white trash the obvious setting would be the Southwest Side (or the "Sout' Side Irish"), the home of a St. Patrick's Day parade that had become bigger than the official city parade downtown but was cancelled after last year's parade turned into a drunken row. And of course, they should keep the titles similar as the UK--one of the best bits of premise-setting in current TV. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
