The line that makes me cringe is when White said "They know what they're doing far better than I do."
No, Betty, they do not. I would trust Betty White's instincts on comedy, writing in general, and (in this case) booking a suitable musical guest. And, yes, this will the episode I'll watch and complain about this season. if they are wise, they have already signed Ed Asner, Mary Tyler Moore, Gavin McCloud, Cloris Leachman, and Valerie Harper as special guests. And maybe Chevy Chase to cameo in the Ted Baxter role. By the way, am I the only one who remembers the "Golden Girls: The Musical" installment of "The John Larroquette Show"? The one where Betty and Rue pretended to shop around a script, all as pretense of finding different men to nail? Betty was outstanding that episode, and Larroquette as Bea Arthur was funny, too. -- Kevin M. (RPCV) -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
