United Artists released "The Great Escape"--therefore, MGM owns the
film. TCM shows it due to their deal with MGM that allows them to
cherry-pick the UA library.

And there's a comment from what sounds like a crew member complaining
that reality shows are taking over television--outside of the fact
that I don't think Ron Howard will take seriously anyone that calls
him "Opie," the bulk of TNT's original schedule is still scripted,
half of this week's Top 10 broadcast shows are scripted drama/sitcom
(with three of the slots, including the ACM awards, taken with shows
using WGA writers and the reality comp series in the Top 10 both
shooting at a solidly-union shop) and I don't see TNT, FX, AMC, HBO,
Showtime or Starz (or the broadcast networks, for that matter) getting
out of scripted programming any time soon--what is this guy bitching
about?
