I find it interesting that you say that Kevin Smith is too talkative but endorse Ebert. I liked pretty much everything he sent out, but the quantity of tweets got to be overwhelming.
As a follow-on to David B's comment, I endorse following @stephenfry himself, and the staff of QI tweet interesting bits of trivia under @qikipedia. If you're feeling really geeky, I also recommend the two cast members Mythbusters who actively tweet, @grantimahara and @donttrythis (Adam Savage). There's a nice mix of promotion, behind-the-scenes stuff, and links to interesting things from elsewhere in the world of science/technology. Also Chris Hardwick (host of "Web Soup"), who can be found at @nerdist.
