Although the venerable ABC soap has 18 nominations for this year's
awardsfest, the fact that the cancelled "As the World Turns" has 13
nominations is probably of note because it could make the June 27
Emmycast on CBS (after being sent off for one year to The CW--which is
getting out of weekday daytime programming as a result of Tyra's
retirement) a wake for daytime's first first half-hour soap:

The overall network leader in nominations is PBS, thanks to all of
those kids shows (of which "Sesame Street" has the most nods)--Ellen
leads in talk show nominations and I'd tell you which game show leads
in noms, except that www.emmyonline.tv seems to be overextended right
now.

The host hasn't been announced yet--with the Emmycast on CBS, even
though it could be Dr. Phil or Rachael Ray from the syndication arm, I
suspect the host will be either Drew Carey or Wayne Brady.
