I doubt that many members of Team Coco are watching Leno while they
wait for Conan to appear on TBS.

What you thought of as "made it look easy", I thought of as "on
autopilot." Until the end was in sight, and everyone (including
Johnny) wanted to do well in their last appearance, there were a lot
of formulaic Tonight Shows with forgettable guests doing forgettable
segments that had me watching reruns on other channels while I was
waiting for Late Night to come on.
