Of course, it was TW that took Turner out of the sports news business
by shutting down CNN/SI and CNN's sports department sometime after
9/11 and Fox News Channel started consistently beating them.  "Sports
Tonight" and Nick and Fred were a valuable alternative to
"SportsCenter" on many nights (like when it was Craig Kilborn and
Stuart Scott anchoring "SC"), but because of lack of subscribers to
CNN/SI and the decision to go solely after political junkies at CNN,
that department is no more.
