Sounds like you're talking about an outgrowth of the Paley Center's annual
festival, which is essentially Comic-Con-style panels about various TV
shows -- most of them current shows, especially in recent years -- but
without much of a "convention" aspect to it.  (Haven't seen anyone dressed
up in anything beyond a T-shirt, there's only one panel per day, and there
aren't any booths selling memorabilia, etc.)
