Although the test run for Bill Cunningham's TV talk show for Tribune
Broadcasting bombed a few weeks ago on the Trib-owned stations where
it ran (except for his hometown of Cincinnati), the Trib is barreling
onward for a September 2011 premiere (after Oprah leaves)--Cunningham
says that he won't play the political card on more mass appeal TV and
hints that he won't do the sort of sleaziness that former Springer
showrunner Richard Dominick (egged on by Trib CEO Randy Michaels) had
him do in the test shows:

As for the other summer talk show test runs, Craig Kilborn's attempt
at a comeback for Fox-owned stations seems pretty much dead in the
water, while another Fox-owned stations test run for a daily program
starring former Arkansas Gov. and Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee
started this week (produced by Fixed Noise, where Huckabee has a
weekend gabber).
