And Mr. Newman delivered newscasts during David Letterman's NBC morning show in 1980. Despite the awkwardness of doing newscasts with a studio audience watching (although near the end I believe he was moved back to the newsroom), he and Dave always seemed to get along well. -- TV or Not TV ....
