For those geeks into ripping DVD's (with DVD Decrypter or other apps) and then shrinking them to fit standard home-burnable discs, here is the link to DVD Shrink.

Even if you just scroll through the page you will see how the software gives you the space per title/chapter whatever. Then you can choose alternate compressions (i.e. worse quality) to fit more on a disc.

The latter. I was curious why "In Treatment" puts five episodes on
each disc, and wondered how many they could have included (so that I
didn't have to wait for nine DVDs in total). There's approximately 2.5
hours on each here, including recaps and Spanish sound track; if they
tried, they probably could have squeezed the series into six or seven
discs, but then they'd have lost the "Week 1," "Week 2," etc. library
format.
