Good LA Times article about how Republicans and teabaggers are embracing reality shows like "Dancing With the Stars," which emphasizes the fact that reality TV is almost the only mass appeal television left and that even if not outwardly political and despite all that hot tub canoodling and Gordon Ramsay cursing, the genre seems to reinforce values the right likes to consider its values (in addition, it seems to me that Mark Burnett and the guy who produces "Deadliest Catch" are registered Republicans):
