I think perhaps a large reason I was disappointed in the movie was the comparisons made to like movies from previous generations. People would say, "If you liked 'The Breakfast Club' or 'Fast Times,' then you'll love this movie." I did not find that to be the case. Even more modern teenage films like "Clueless" and "Mean Girls" -- while neither were stellar examples of quality cinema -- were enjoyable to watch and contained humor. I guess the humor of ND was the awkwardness/quirkiness of the characters, but I see awkward/quirky kids everywhere I go, and at much more extreme levels. -- Kevin M. (RPCV) -- TV or Not TV ....
