We saw Matthew Weiner at the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco
this last Wednesday, and he revealed that the Mad Men theme is
actually the opening of some rap song. He heard it as in interstitial
piece on "Marketplace" and had to have his assistant phone KCRW to
find out what the piece was. He'd struggled to find the right music to
match the animation, and that was it.

He didn't reveal the name of the song, though. Anyone know?
