Just wanted to say that I knew nothing about Top Gear -- except that a lot of members of this list are fans of the show.
Although I'm still unlikely to watch the show -- nothing about motor vehicles has ever interested me (I barely own a car) -- I enjoyed the Sixty Minutes segment. It is a good example of what I really appreciate about Sixty Minutes -- it educates me about stuff I otherwise wouldn't bother with. I remember one time a friend, who also watches Sixty Minutes, called me during a segment on baseball. When I complained about the interruption, he asked why I would want to watch the segment since I wasn't interested in baseball. I replied that I just liked being educated -- painlessly -- about subjects that are an important part of our culture. The show about the competition in Alabama seemed like it was clever and cute.
