Alan Spencer, a name not heard much lately, is developing with
Canada's Just for Laughs people for Cablevision's younger and maler
arthouse channel an as-yet untitled action series "a psychotic
criminal juggling a criminal enterprise and an active social life," on
IFC's slate with an animated series from Jonathan Wain and the "Ugly
Americans" animators, a reality series about professional facial hair
growers from Thom Beers ("Deadliest Catch"--his company is now owned
by Fremantle) and a parody of police procedurals from Principato and
Young, whose names seem to pop up on seemingly every improv-based or
desperately hip one-camera sitcom:http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/blogs/live-feed/ifc-developing-8-series-43319 Those and other shows may join an already-renewed "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret" (once David Cross and Will Arnett can extricate themselves from "Running Wilde") and two over-promoed 2011 series: "Onion News Network Presents FactZone with Brooke Alvarez" and "Portlandia," the Fred Armisen/Carrie Brownstein one-camera show that sounds like the first mumblecore sitcom. -- TV or Not TV ....
