I didn't get the impression that they had filmed the opening bit and had to strike it. Practice it, yes, since clearly backup dancers had been hired for the occasion. Clearly it came close enough that everyone was in costume.
Either way, the advert for show tickets that airs in the last ten minutes of the program did not have any footage of the number. And it would have been nice to have more than one guest that was actually on the show. Craig would have done fine with Davies, who may no longer be with Who, but is currently Stateside.
