The Tribune and Sinclair-owned stations have signed an unprecedented 7- year renewal contract (the original 2007 contract ran until 2014) with Warners for the "2.5 Men" rerun package, an unheard-of renewal for an off-network package (and in syndication, King World/CBS Distribution has only been able to get five-year renewals for Oprah, "Wheel" and "Jeopardy!") and probably meaning that the show has at least two more seasons of first-run action on CBS:
http://www.deadline.com/2010/11/two-and-a-half-men-renewed-in-broadcast-syndication-for-7-more-years/ It should be noted that "2.5 Men" is the only show in syndication that provides 14 different episodes a week to air on all seven days: A "Weekend B" package was added this year to the usual "Weekend" package many of the topline off-net sitcom reruns offer for play on Saturday or Sunday. It doesn't mean that "Weekend A" has to run on Saturday and "B" on Sunday (stations could do a two-hour block of the four episodes), but it does mean that along with the first-runs Monday nights and the FX reruns (of which their ratings are combined with syndication ratings), "2.5 Men" is now perhaps the most ubiquitous series on TV. -- TV or Not TV ....
