Dr. Elmo Shropshire (a vet) recorded "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" with his then-wife in 1979 to put a career as a bluegrass picker and singer on track--it didn't really happen, but he's been pulling in more money than your average bluegrass musician off of that one song that supposedly everyone hates (but inspired an animated TV special that will undoubtedly air somewhere this holiday season, hence the "SemiNotTV"):
