I have to say, I'm less upset about the cancellation of SGU than I was of
Stargate Atlantis. Season 1, to me, felt like a bunch of ideas that came
out in the writers' room that should have stayed pinned to a wall rather
than committed to a story. The front half of season 2, however, was
starting to click, and was really taking the show to where it needed to be
by midseason last year. At least SGU will get to finish out its season,
unlike "Caprica".

Part of me knows this is just SyFy being dicks, but part of me wonders how
much the MGM bankruptcy has to do with this. With all of the other MGM
properties...OK, with the Bond films stuck in development limbo while the
financials get sorted out, would SyFy (and possibly CTV/Space) have been
carrying the full freight of producing the show? (In all fairness, I know
MGM owns the Stargate franchise, but I don't know how much of a financial
stake they have in the shows themselves.)

Ultimately, this is just another thumb to the fans' eyes by an indifferent
network.

Is it wrong that I really want all of SGU to be a dream, and in the series
finale, O'Neill wakes up in bed next to Carter, a la "Newhart"?
