For those who saw my earlier videos from Karaganda, here is one more. It is a second look at the city's central park, this time covered in snow. You can also see me wearing a hat made out of a dead animal, which people seem to find amusing. The video also features one last look at the Lenin statue in the center of the city; the statue was dismantled (literally beheaded) less than 24 hours after I shot the video. Its removal actually made international headlines. I learned after the fact that some communists protested. For those missing the irony, communists (who if they had there way would have a government that would prohibit free speech and unsanctioned public assembly) enjoyed the freedom to protest. Not a fan of irony, the local officials not only had the protesters arrested, but committed one of them to an insane asylum for a few days.
