There are only three Christmas Television traditions that I enjoy. One is Charlie Brown (still on my TiVo so I can watch it with my kids who came home from college); the second is Yule Log (which we record and then play on background while opening presents Christmas morning), and the third is Dave with Jay Thomas and Darlene Love. I just got around to watching the last item last night, and it was great as always. I thought I heard Thomas say to Dave, as he was shaking hands and walking off stage, something like "I would love to sit down and talk sometime if you are ever interested" - which I assume was him inviting Dave to be on his radio show? I don't get Sirius, but if this ever happens I would like to try to find a way to listen to it; is it possible to buy single episodes of sattelite radio programs as some kind of podcast?
A week ago or so someone posted here about some kind of pay-per-view version of Yule Log. DirectTV had something like this (I don't think it was a fireplace, but it was Christmas music). It reminded me that years ago (maybe 12-15?) DirectTV had a version that I really liked - something like Christmas karoke; they played Christmas Carols, scrolling the words on the screen. I had a lot of fun with that, making my family sing songs Christmas Eve night (my kids didn't like it so much though). But at least the lyrics seems to be a value added that might justify a charge. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
